About My Firm

Established in 1906, the law firm of Parish & Castleman has been known by several different names throughout its 100-year history. However, my firm's emphasis on quality legal services and client-centered representation has remained the same. I am attorney Darrel F. Parish, and my team is comprised of individuals who have strong ties to the local community and are involved in local and legal organizations here in central Illinois.

Raised on a farm near Harristown, Illinois, I graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Agriculture in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics. I went on to the college of law in 1975. I have been practicing law for over 40 years with a focus on all matters related to estate planning, estate administration and probate. I also handle real estate and business transactions, litigation and personal injury matters.

Licensed to practice in all Illinois courts, including state courts and federal courts, I can also appear in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. I am admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. I have served as chairman of the Agricultural Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association in 2004 and 2005.

I am married to Joanna Parish, a guidance counselor at MacArthur High School.
